How many of you know, you can’t run a car without putting oil in it? The basic function of motor is to lubricate the moving components of the engine. Proper lubrication allows all of the different engine parts to move past each other without generating too much friction. if friction were allowed to build up then it would slow down the running of the engine dramatically. Without Oil the car engine would blow up. The Oil the Holy Spirit works in the same way in our lives. He keeps the friction down in our life. Why did Paul tell us to be filled with the Spirit? Why did he say be not drunk on wine in where it is excess, but be filled with the Spirit? He said to build yourself by what? By speaking to yourselves in Psalms and hymns and spiritual songs making melody in your heart to the Lord. When we remind ourselves what the Word of God tells us we are made stronger by The Holy Spirit. It Will build our faith in God. Now just as a car needs oil to make the engine run smooth, so do we need the Oil of the Spirit so we too can run smoothly. Jesus, when He was in the Garden praying, he told his disciples to also pray lest they should enter into temptation, because the flesh is weak and the Spirit is strong. So it is with us when we don’t pray,. We also give way to the flesh, like Peter did when he cut off the man’s ear and Jesus had to heal the man. Jesus had gave them a very important word about praying and how the oil of The Spirit would help them not to yield to the fleshly man out of fear or anger but to the holy Spirit. Praying, reading and remembering God’s Word Makes it possible for the Christian to be able to live the Life that Jesus desires for them. In the book of Jude, He tells us by praying in the Holy Spirit it builds you upon your most Holy Faith and keeps you in the Love of God. The Oil of the Spirit helps us not to yield to the flesh, but to be more like God and to walk in His Love. You, like a car without oil, you may blow up, and cut someone Ear off. We need The Oil of The Holy Ghost, Amen? The Lord knew we would need the Holy Spirit to enable us to live like he desires us to. He came that we might have Life and Life abundantly. The Holy Ghost is our comforter, He strengthen and comforts you through your battles. He is our first taste of Heaven here on this earth. Wow, God loves us so much he gave us a wonderful Gift. A gift of His presence always with us. The Oil of The Spirit! So remember to take time to pray it will be well worth it, to keep your Spirit running smoothly.
