John1:14 The word of God is alive and powerful. Jesus is the living word. The presence of God is tangible. The life we live now is by the spirit of God. When we receive and believe in Christ our spirit inside our body becomes aware of God. When God told Adam and Eve in the garden that if they ate of the tree of knowledge of good and evil they would die; When they did eat of the tree, their spirit could no longer feel God. They died spiritually to God.
When we believe on Jesus our spirit is made alive to God according to John 3:1. We become born again by the spirit of God. We are alive unto God. Something actually happens to a person when they are saved. We don’t just turn over a new leaf. Something wonderful takes place in our life, we can feel God’s presence. He comes inside us by His spirit. That is why when you start to say or do something wrong, way down inside of you, your spirit that is in tune to God’s presence is telling you not to do it.
When you go ahead and do what the spirit is leading you not to do, you will feel a grieving in your spirit. You are grieving the Lord. The word grieved means to make sorrowful. When we feel the grieving of the spirit we need to repent. If we learn to follow after the spirit and not do whatever our spirit is warning us against doing we will save ourselves alot of sorrow. For the spirit will keep us out of trouble. God has come to give us life and that more abundantly. Take time to spend in His presence. To be in His presence is alittle heaven this side of heaven. The bible tells us the Holy Spirit is a fore taste of heaven. In God’s presence is great joy. When we walk outside of his presence by doing something we know is wrong, we don’t feel his joy and peace like we could if we following after His leading. If you are going to do something and you don’t feel peace about it, ask God about it.
The Holy Spirit may be trying to keep you out of trouble. Jesus is a friend that sticketh closer than a brother. Trust in Him for He will lead you because He loves you with a everlasting love. Remember to always follow after His peace.
